Non-Touring Is The Makeup Trend For Women Who Hate Contouring
This trend is the complete opposite of the sculpted look.
It seems like every week there's a new beauty term to add to our vocabularies: sandbagging, baking, eye-lighting, strobing. We've pretty much heard it all. Well, that's what we thought until Marie Claire introduced us to non-touring. In the article, celebrity makeup artist Renee Sanganoo says, "It's kind of like Spanx for the skin. You know you're wearing it, but no one's supposed to see it." Of course, we were totally intrigued.
Just like most of thenew makeup techniques, it's actually a classic method that has been attached to a new buzz-worthy word. Non-touring is very similar to highlighting, which is when you use illuminating products to attract light and create a glow effect. Obviously, there are levels when it comes to highlighting. You can go full on disco ball or choose a more subtle effect. And non-touring falls on the barely-there side of the spectrum.
To attempt non-touring at home, you'll have to stock up on radiant powders, and you can swap out your heavy foundation for a lighter BB cream or tinted moisturizer. Think of this pared-down look as an easy way to make your skin glow without piling on deep bronzers.
It all might sound a bit complicated, but we tested out non-touring on one of our editors to show you the stunning results. The lit-from-within technique gives off a similar vibe as the no-makeup makeup trend. If you're ready to take a break from elaborate contouring this summer or just want to score a natural shine, keep reading to see how non-touring is done.
